HESSONG, Carolyn "Sue" age 74

Carolyn "Sue" (Beck) Hessong, 74, of Lafayette, passed away at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013 in her home surrounded by her family. Born August 17, 1939 in Thorntown, IN, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ray and Naomi May (Adair) Beck. Sue grew up in Boone County and was educated in the Thorntown schools. She had lived all of her married life in the Greater Lafayette area, marrying Lloyd N. Hessong on February 9, 1957 in Lebanon, IN and he survives. Sue had worked as a secretary at Lafayette Life Insurance, then at Andover Corporation. She then went on to work at Wright Hardware in Colfax before retiring. Sue was a nanny and worked in child care services for different families in Greater Lafayette. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Church in Thorntown and the Greater Lafayette Kennel Club at Shadeland. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Lloyd, Sue is survived by two sisters, Anna Davis (husband, Raymond) of Thorntown and Marcia Fetterhoff (husband, Robert) of Frankfort. She was preceded in death by one sister, Jerri Ann Beck.
Visitation one hour prior to the 12 PM Noon Memorial service at Hippensteel Funeral Home On Saturday December 28 with Pastor Dean Cooper officiating and pastor Brent James. Inurnment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IN at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Church, P.O Box 81, Thorntown, IN 46071. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care.
