Frances (Gilmore) Davis, 90, of Lafayette, passed away at 6:43 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014, the home of her daughter. Born September 12, 1923 in Attica, IN, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Goldie (Lowe) Gilmore. She was a graduate of Pine Village High School.
Frances married Glenn M. Davis on September 27, 1941 in Danville, IN. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2004. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Circle, a member of United Methodist Women and a former member of the Challengers Class at church. She enjoyed working in her yard.
Surviving are her two daughters, Judith L. "Judy" Stewart (husband, Lynn) of West Lafayette and Sandra "Sandy" Panagiotis of Pittsburg, PA; and a sister, Mary Clawson of Lafayette. Also surviving are her six grandchildren: Christopher Stewart, Jennifer Clark, Susannah DeVault, Amanda Thieme, Alyssa McKenna, and Kristin Harden; and fifteen great grandchildren: Brayden Stewart, Jillian Stewart, Colin McMonagle, Mallory Clark, Kylee Clark, Connor DeVault, Rylee Devault, Kendall Devault, Lauryn McKenna, Jack McKenna, Declan McKenna, Jordan Harden, Kaitlynn Thieme, Bailey Thieme, and Trevor Thieme. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Kelly and an infant brother, Charles Gilmore.
Visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Pastor Paul D. Arnold officiating. Burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
