Janice Ruth Ham, age 88, of Lafayette, died at 4:05 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Central.

Born on June 3, 1925 in Boswell, she was the daughter of the late Carl Smiley Fisher and Ruth Lowell Malada Fisher.

She married Richard F. "Dick" Ham on March 24, 1954 in Boswell and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1989.

Janice was a secretary at Alcoa for many years and also worked for St. Elizabeth Medical Center in the Business office. She was member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters: Stephanie L. Arnold and Jennifer R. Swindle both of Lafayette, four grandchildren: Brianne M. Paugh (husb: William), Michael J. Hubbard, Jakob K. Swindle, Kaitlyn J. Swindle and one great-granddaughter: Janelle S. Paugh. She was preceded in death by a brother: Richard G. Fisher and a sister: Rhoda I. Reene.

Friends may call 1-2 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Pastor Paul D. Arnold officiating. Interment will be private at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care. Memorial contributions may be made to Food Finders Food Bank.
