Jane E. (Wainscott) Farrell, age 78 of Lafayette, passed away at 5:37 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Seaton Hospital in Lafayette.
Born in Lafayette on February 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Minnie Detter Wainscott. Jane attended Jefferson High School. She married James M. Farrell June 14, 1952 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death December 28, 2006. She retired from Jefferson Smurfitt and had worked previously at National Homes. Jane enjoyed cooking, Nascar racing and College football.
Surviving are two sons Terry Farrell of Westpoint and Pat (companion – Stelia) Farrell of Lafayette. A sister Pat Farner of Lafayette, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by a daughter Kathy Hicks, a grandson Jonathan Hicks, two brothers Ernie and Ed Wainscott and one sister Barb Lockard.
Visitation will be 9-11 am Wednesday, service to follow at 11 am Wednesday at Hippensteel Chapel. Celebrant Carla Ellis to officiate, Burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Donor's favorite charity. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care. Share memories and condolences online at .
