Jeannette Elizabeth "Grandma Boo", "Aunt Nettie", Rubright passed away peacefully on July 12, 2012 at home in Lake Placid, FL. Jeannette had been a part time resident of Lake Placid, FL and Lafayette, IN for the past 17 years. She was born February 28, 1937 in Lafayette to the late Theodore Dawson and Cleon Elsea Dawson. Her marriage was to James Leo Rubright, Sr. on February 28, 1956 in Lafayette and he survives. Jeannette graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955 and worked for Purdue University and Kirby Vacuum Cleaners. She had a passion for genealogy and computers and enjoyed crocheting and woodworking.
Jeannette is survived by her husband of 56 years James Leo Rubright, Sr., one sister Janice Rubright (John) of Lafayette, two brothers Don Dawson (Joyce) of Muncie, Bud Dawson (Lois) of Port Ritchie, FL, two sons James Leo Rubright, Jr. (Lana) of Charlotte, NC, Pete Rubright (Darlene) of Charlotte, NC, three daughters, Jennifer Henson of Delphi, Jill Ridge (Kenny) of Chesterton, Jayne Weaver (George) of Marion, one step-son Roger Rubright of Lafayette, 13 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Junkins.
