Pastor Johnnie Herman Beard, age 67, of West Lafayette, Indiana formerly of Kokomo, departed this life on Saturday April 21, 2012 at 11:15 p.m.

Pastor Johnnie Herman Beard was born on December 9, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, to the late Ivy Lee Beard, Sr. and Lucille S. (Allen) Beard.

He was dedicated to education and received his Doctorate of Theology Degree from White Horse School of Ministries in 2002. He was an educator in the Indiana school system for a number of years impacting the lives on many children.

As an ordained minister of the gospel for over 40 years, Pastor Johnnie ministered in over 130 nations. He helped plant churches with the Four Square denomination and later with White Horse Christian Center, where he was a member for the past 15 years, and was a beloved pastor on staff since 1998.

Pastor Johnnie's first love was Jesus Christ, and he ministered the love of God to people all over the world. He also greatly enjoyed attending car shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Ivy Lee Beard, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory a sister, Natalie (Bryon) Farmer of Indianapolis and many others impacted by his love for all.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday April 27th at 1 Tippecanoe Memory Gardens for family with Pastor Jeff Johns officiating. Hippensteel Funeral Home is entrusted with care.

A Memorial Service celebrating Pastor Johnnie's life will take place on Wednesday, May 16 at 1:00 PM at White Horse Christian Center, 1780 Cumberland Ave., West Lafayette. Memorial contributions may be made to White Horse Christian Center. All funds will go toward establishing an overseas orphanage in his name. For more information about Pastor Johnnie H.
